Prayer
Prayers for the Nation
Across the country Churches and Christians have been praying for the national situation. A number of prayers from church leaders have been collated by Premier Christian Radio and put together under the title Prayers of Hope. Previously recorded for Sundays 22nd and 29th March, these prayers are still pertinent. To listen in and pray along with them, click here.

A Prayer from Christians in Scotland
We turn to you, our Father, for we need your help.
We thank you, Lord Jesus, for your promise to be with us whatever lies ahead,
Strengthen us Holy Spirit as we face this together.
We pray for our world and our country, as sickness threatens lives and livelihoods,
leaving many in isolation, while key workers continue despite the risk.
We pray for government leaders at Westminster and Holyrood. Grant wisdom in responding to medical and scientific advice, and in the making of tough decisions for the wellbeing of all.
We pray for all who serve in the NHS and in social care - for their protection and strength in facing increasing numbers, overstretched resources and distressing human need.
Thank you for the many who have returned from retirement or have volunteered to help.
Grant them courage. Keep them safe.
We pray for those who are ill - those who are alone and anxious - those exhausted looking after family - those worried for the vulnerable - those fearful for their finances – and those shut in with their fears. Grant comfort and health.
Thank you for the people working to manufacture needed resources, those seeking a vaccine, and the many keeping contact with their neighbours. Prosper what is done and grant encouragement at this time.
Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Give us faith, hope and love - and hear our prayers in Jesus' name. Amen
